It just had been fiber to the node at my address (around 25mbps). my thoughts. zip code 30075 has about 55% of addresses with ATT fiber while zip code 30076 is about 54%... both are significantly over the 18% average of 14+ million addresses within ATT 21 state footprint. There is also a lot of back end work done in the offices to turn up Fiber equipment to feed neighborhoods. Once all work has been done by all work groups tasked with turning up your neighborhood, the engineer will green light your addresses and you will populate on uverse availability at att.com. So it's looking like 7-9 months from start to finish.. I couldn't be more excited about going from 0mbps to 1000. Last Friday they finally made it to my street and marked up my front yard with flags and spray paint and I now know its ATT installing Fiber Optic. No, the option wasn't available to pay the cost out of pocket.
